I run GNOME on the both RedHat i386-based systems, which are configured to dial an ISP (just in case my broadband connection drops!). The Laptop runs KDE, as that is what Knoppix runs. The JavaStations are mainly used as X-terminals.

I do a lot development work under Linux, mainly using C/C++, and have ported my Java Virtual Machine to run under Linux-i386.
